Deep Clean vs. Regular Clean: Which Does Your Home Need?
When you request a house cleaning, the first question is usually: deep clean or regular clean? They're different services with different prices, and picking the right one saves money and frustration.
What a regular clean covers
A regular (or maintenance) clean keeps an already-clean home in shape: kitchen counters and sinks, appliance fronts, bathrooms, dusting reachable surfaces, emptying trash, and vacuuming and mopping floors. It's designed to be repeated weekly, every two weeks or monthly.
What a deep clean adds
A deep clean adds the detail work that builds up over time: baseboards, door frames, light switches, ceiling fans, blinds, inside the oven and fridge, cabinet fronts, grout, and hard-water and mildew buildup in bathrooms.
When to book a deep clean
Book a deep clean if it's your first time with a cleaner, if it's been more than a month or two since a thorough cleaning, before a big event or holiday, or when moving in or out. Many cleaners require a deep clean before starting a recurring schedule so they're maintaining a clean baseline.
When a regular clean is enough
If your home is generally tidy and cleaned regularly, a maintenance clean is all you need. Adding a deep clean once or twice a year keeps the detail work from building up.
